Don't read this unless you are interested in 20 pound plus Brown Trout, excellent food and a marvelous lodge located ten minutes from the fabled Rio Grande River in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.

In appreciation for my loyalty bringing clients for over ten years during the "hard times", Danny Lajous awarded me the two prime weeks at his Despedida Lodge - for my life. These are the last week in February and the first week in March.... These and other weeks I have reserved there are comprised of faithful returning friends but occasionally openings occur. Your trip will doubtlessly be a success. Rarely does a fisherman leave without a 20lb + fish to his credit, sometimes several.

The winds of Tierra del Fuego must be a consideration - it is true - at times they are gale force. However, the circuitous route of the river allows fishing positions on the pools to put the wind direction to one's advantage. Practice casting your rod of choice with a sinking tip line and a bulky fly. This will make sure you are prepared for this adventure.
