The surubim catfish of South America |
Hanover Flyfishers, Ltd. offers a qualified list of trips
to fly-fishing destinations worldwide. For the past twenty years we have
visited many countries locating sites to assess the merit of guides, fishing
potential, accessibility, lodging and meals. We were not only guided by
client interest in these areas but mainly by the species indigenous to the
waters. We do not offer airline sales but keep our finger on the pulse of
schedules to the areas we suggest. Our aim is to customize your dream trip,
make it affordable, comfortable and within your physical capabilities. When
we are fully satisfied with the offering we detail our findings and share
this with interested traveling sports. |
| Our recent history of itineraries
includes Africa for Tiger fish, Labrador for the giant Brook Trout, Tierra
del Fuego targeting the large sea-run Brown Trout, Alaska for the legendary
salmon runs and a Patagonia Sampler where the fishermen sample wade and
drift boat fishing in central Argentina. I have made several trips to Louisiana's redfish estuary where
there are great numbers of fish and the
guiding was superlative. I will continue to return in the future for several
weekends with interested groups. There are others such as a new, soon to be
released location on the fabled Ibera’ Marsh in Northern Argentina. From a
newly constructed lodge there we will target Dorado. This is in an area of
the marsh that has not been available to others prior to the lodge being
constructed. |

Headed into the Mongolian wilderness to chase Taimen
|
In 2002
Hanover Flyfishers hosted a group to Mongolia for Taimen. I was fortunate to
meet the father of the owners, the Vermillon boys that are so well known for
their prime locations, and got the inside track for selecting dates and how
to prepare tackle and nerves for the surface strike of a 50" salmonoid! A
world record was broken on this trip by Neal Rose of Richmond, VA. |
